In a heartwarming display of compassion and community spirit, Emmanuel University visited the children’s cancer ward at Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH) on Friday, 17th April 2026. The outreach team arrived bearing gifts, spiritual comfort, and high-energy entertainment, transforming a difficult environment into a vibrant celebration of life.

The event, dubbed the “Fun Friday Session,” was designed to provide a holistic healing experience for young patients battling cancer. The day began on a solemn yet uplifting note, as the university delegation led a prayer session with the children and their parents. The room fell into a reverent hush as prayers of hope, strength, and healing were offered, providing much-needed spiritual solace to families facing long and arduous treatment journeys.

Following the prayers, the atmosphere shifted from quiet reflection to joyful chaos. The students from Emmanuel University distributed gifts to the children, bringing wide smiles to faces that have seen too much hardship. However, the highlight of the day was the therapeutic sports and dance session.

Led by energetic student volunteers, the children—many accompanied by their parents—participated in adapted physical activities and dancing. Medical staff looked on approvingly as the young patients moved to upbeat music, their laughter echoing through the ward corridors.
