EMUNI CELEBRATES NEW GENERATION OF EDUCATOR-INNOVATORS

Emmanuel University marked a proud moment this weekend as it graduated its second cohort of teachers in a ceremony that celebrated both academic achievement and practical innovation. The vibrant event highlighted the institution’s unique approach to educator training, blending pedagogy with hands-on problem solving.

Principal Secretary for Higher Education Dr. Eneya praised faculties displayed innovations, including Mlera Nthaka Bio fertiliser, home economics products and teaching aids made from local materials. “These teachers enter our schools ready to create solutions,” he observed, capturing the university’s practical ethos.

Chancellor Archbishop Dr. Mark Kambalazaza charged the graduates to become beacons of change in Malawi’s classrooms. The ceremony honored outstanding achievers while showcasing student-built educational tools that demonstrated EMUNI’s commitment to learning beyond textbooks.

Emuni a brainchild of Evangelical Association of Malawi (EAM), was established in 2003 as a Teacher Training College and graduated to a University in 2018.

Rev. Francis Mkandawire, EAM’s General Secretary reflected on the university’s growing impact, as this new wave of alumni joined earlier graduates already making their mark across Malawi’s education landscape as both instructors and innovators.
